Trumpet’ is a tuberous plant with large lanceolate
glossy dark green leaves with grayish undersides. It grows to an average height of 15 to 20
inches. A separate basal stalk bears a
raceme of large canary-yellow funnel-shaped flowers.

This
plant makes an excellent specimen plant shaded landscapes or as an interior or
patio pot plant.

Best
suited for an 8” pot size and will finish in about 3 months.

Soil
/ Watering:
Use a slightly acidic, well draining professional
mix, keep evenly moist. During dormancy,
keep rhizomes dry and protect from freezing.
Fertilizer: Liquid feed with complete fertilizer at 200-250 ppm
(N), weekly. Supplement with magnesium sulfate at 1/4 pound per 100 gallons
once per month. For top dress or soil incorporation, follow label rates.
Pest/Disease Problems:
Employ good sanitation practices to avoid fungal
and bacterial pathogens. A preventative drench with a soil fungicide such as Banrot will help to prevent root rot.
