Pitcarnia sanguinia is a terrestrial bromeliad with
attractive maroon and green foliage. It produces a dense rosette of long arching
leaves rising from the bulbous base of the plant. Pitcarnia sanguinia blooms on
a tall central stalk with tubular red flowers.
Habit and Growth Rate:
Excellent plant for partially
shaded landscapes. It can also be as a summer patio plant in cooler
areas.
Pot Size and Finish Time:
Best
suited for 6” to 8” pot sizes and will finish in about 8
months.
