Ornamental Features:

‘Yellow Christmas’ has beautiful yellow and white blooms with dark green foliage.  The inflorescence is erect with yellow bracts and white sepals.  ‘Yellow Christmas’ will grow 4 to 6 feet tall. Flowering occurs January through April.

 

Applications:

This plant is well suited to partially shaded landscapes in warm climates. It also works well as a patio plant or long-lasting cut flower. 

 

Pot Size and Finish Time:

Best suited for a 10” pot size and will finish in 6 to 8 months.

 

Culture:

Light:  30% to 50% shade

Temperature:  60° - 95° F

Soil / Watering:  Use a well draining professional mix that is slightly acidic, keep evenly moist.

Fertilizer:  Liquid feed with complete fertilizer at 200-250 ppm (N), weekly. Supplement with magnesium sulfate at 1/4 pound per 100 gallons once per month. For top dress or soil incorporation, follow label rates for medium to heavy feeders.

 

Pest/Disease Problems:

Preventative spray for insect pests. Employ good sanitation practices to avoid fungal & bacterial pathogens, preventive drench to control root rot.
