Ornamental Features:

Cordyline ‘Chocolate’ has broad deep brown leaves. It has a bushy growth habit and grows 3 to 4 feet tall.

 

Applications:

‘Chocolate’ is an excellent landscape plant to provide a tropical look.  It can also be used as a patio plant or in mixed containers.

 

Pot Size and Finish Time:

Best suited for a 10” pot size and will finish in 6 months. Plant 3 plants per pot.

 

Culture:

Light:  50% to 65% shade or 3,000 to 5,000 foot candles

Temperature:  65° - 95° F

Soil / Watering:  Use a well draining professional mix, keep evenly moist. 

Fertilizer:  Liquid feed with complete fertilizer at 200 ppm (N). For top dress or soil incorporation, follow label rates for medium feeders.

 

Pest/Disease Problems:

Preventative spray for insect pests. Employ good sanitation practices to avoid fungal and bacterial pathogens, preventative drench to control root rot.
