Ornamental Features:

Caladium ‘Bicolor’ has dark dusty green foliage with random splotches that are bright lavender on the new growth and then turn to a pale yellow as the leaf matures. In ideal growing conditions the leaves will be up to 18 inches across and 28 inches long.

 

Applications:

‘Bicolor’ is an excellent plant for spring and summer color. It can be grown in pots, planted in the landscape or used as cut foliage in flower arrangements.

 

Pot Size and Finish Time:

Best suited for 8” and 10” pots and will finish in 3 to 4 months. Plant 2 to 3 plants per pot.

 

Culture:

Light:  4000 FC to full sun

Temperature:  Temperatures 70° - 90° F

Soil / Watering:  Use a well draining professional mix, keep evenly moist. Do not allow soil to dry completely. Soil pH should be between 5.5 and 6.5.

Fertilizer:  Liquid feed with complete 20-10-20 or 20-20-20 fertilizer at 150 to 200 ppm (N), once every two weeks. Top dress or incorporate slow release fertilizer at recommended rates for medium feeders.

 

Pest/Disease Problems:

Preventative spray for insect pests. Employ good sanitation practices to avoid fungal & bacterial pathogens, preventive drench to control root rot.
