Ornamental Features:

‘Sugarloaf’ is a commercial pineapple variety. The fruit has golden yellow flesh and a low acid content resulting in a very sweet pineapple. The plants have a rosette of stiff spiny leaves that reach a length of three to four feet.

 

Habit and Growth Rate:

‘Sugarloaf’ can be used in the landscape in warmer climates to provide a tropical look and will produce an edible pineapple. It can also be grown in pots and used in mixed containers.

 

Pot Size and Finish Time:

Best suited for 8” to 10” pot sizes and will finish in about 12 months.
